Our Story
At Microscopic Melody, we are scientists, musicians, and curious makers who believe that discovery can taste as good as it sounds.
Microscopic Melody began as a passion project — part laboratory, part listening session. Led by a molecular biologist and immunologist with a background in analytical chemistry, our goal is to understand what truly makes one fermentation different from another.
We’re conducting controlled experiments using different yeast strains, honey sources, and fermentation conditions, then analyzing our results with modern scientific tools like mass spectrometry and RNA sequencing.
But data alone doesn’t capture the human experience of taste — so we also bring people together to share in the process. Our taste testing sessions invite participants to sample experimental batches and tell us what song, mood, or memory each one evokes. Those songs become the inspiration for our future batch names — blending emotional resonance with analytical precision.
In the long term, we hope to bridge the gap between science and craft beverage production, proving that art and analysis can share the same glass.
